Our Human Rights Commitment
Respect for human dignity is fundamental to how we work, create, and collaborate. We believe that every person connected to our business, across our own organisation and throughout our value chain, has the right to be treated with fairness, safety, and respect.
We are committed to respecting internationally recognised human rights and to preventing any involvement in practices that cause harm, exploitation, or inequality. This commitment is formalised through our Human Rights Policy, which sets clear expectations for how we operate and how we engage with suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
Due Diligence & International Frameworks
We recognise that human rights risks can exist in complex global supply chains. To address this, we carry out ongoing human rights risk assessments across our operations and sourcing activities. These assessments help us identify potential risks, prioritise areas for action, and strengthen our approach to responsible business conduct.
Our approach is aligned with globally recognised standards, including the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). These principles guide how we prevent, mitigate, and address potential impacts on people, and how we embed respect for human rights into our decision-making and business practices.
This is an ongoing commitment. As we grow, we will continue to strengthen our processes, deepen our understanding, and work in partnership with others to help build a more just and responsible jewellery industry.
Diversity, Equity & inclusion
We are committed to cultivating a culture grounded in mutual respect, openness, and belonging. We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to who we are, shaping our creativity, strengthening our teams, and supporting the long-term success of our business.
This commitment is formalised through our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Policy, which guides how we work with one another, how we grow as a company, and how we engage with the wider world.
Our Commitment
We actively promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all levels of the organisation. In December 2022, our CEO signed the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), reaffirming our dedication to gender equality and the empowerment of women.
Guided by these principles, we are committed to advancing equal opportunities, supporting professional development, and strengthening fairness across leadership, pay, and career progression.
Listening, Learning, and Improving
We believe meaningful progress begins with listening. Through a company-wide DE&I-focused employee survey, we gathered insights that helped shape our DE&I Action Plan. This plan is structured across three areas: building strong foundations, strengthening inclusion within the workplace, and extending impact beyond our organisation.
Our approach is data-led and continually evolving. The Action Plan is reviewed and refined based on stakeholder feedback, beginning with our internal teams. Over time, this will expand to include external perspectives, ensuring our efforts remain relevant, transparent, and responsive.
Our Practices
Insights from our 2025 DE&I Survey highlighted key focus areas which formed our current priorities:
- Monitoring gender and age diversity across all levels of the organisation and continuously reviewing our progress.
- Inclusive hiring practices: Our recruitment and promotion processes are based on objective criteria focused on skills, experience, and potential. Hiring managers follow structured inclusive hiring guidelines and use interview scorecards to support fair decision-making and help mitigate unconscious bias.
- Paid leave: SBB supports diverse paths to parenthood by offering paid adoption leave and respects religious diversity by allowing employees to take paid leave in line with their religious observances.
- Inclusive language: Diversity and inclusion are embedded into our onboarding programme, and all employees apply our Inclusive Language Guide in both internal and external communications to ensure respectful, accessible, and considered language.
- Training: All members of the management team complete mandatory Diversity, Equity & Inclusion training, followed by facilitated team sessions led by our ESG team to support practical application.
This is an ongoing journey. We remain committed to learning, evolving, and building a workplace where everyone is respected, represented, and empowered to thrive.
